Pilates

NEW Clinical  mat pilates & reformer pilates are now available at our southport clinic on the Gold Coast. We provide one on one classes with the Physiotherapist. To book, please call us on (07) 5591 1816. Otherwise, all the important details are below.

Space

Our space is small and intimate fitting ~8 people maximum per class. We have darker floor panels, white older style windows with plant features creating a very tranquil and calming ambience throughout the clinic.

Teachers

Our wonderful teachers (our physios) are brimming with experience and passion. They will support you on a truly holistic journey to experience a synergy of mind, body and spirit. Our Mat Pilates classes are led by a Physiotherapist, qualified in Clinical Mat Pilates, and therefore, you should be able to claim a significant amount back on your Private Health Fund.

Schedule

We currently offer one on one classes with the Physiotherapist only. We are awaiting enough demand to create classes with bigger groups (see below). The aim is to create a schedule that caters for everyone that requires before work group classes, after work, and everything in between. If you would like to see proposed times and/or offer suggestions to our team of what time you would prefer please call or email us below and let us know. For reference our previous timetable looked like this:  Pilates & Yoga Timetable.

Individual 1-on-1 Pilates with Physio

The one-on-one private Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates sessions, delivered by a Physiotherapist are available and currently running. You can call and book an appointment or class with them right now.  The cost of these classes is the same as a Physiotherapy session, and they are Private Health Fund rebate-able. To book one of these sessions you can call us on (07) 5591 1816.

Reformer Pilates

Clinical reformer Pilates are one one one based with our Physio. We have one reformer machine and our classes will last 45 minutes. The physiotherapist can include introductory level exercises right up to advanced and more difficult exercises.

Group Classes (To Come)

If you have interest in the following please also let us know. We are planning on offering group Yoga Flow, Slow Yoga Flow and group Mat Pilates classes. At this stage one one one classes with the Physiotherapist are available and can be booked online or by calling us. Here are some details below on the classes that will be available:

Yoga Flow

Based on Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Flow offers a blend of authentic yogic practices. Through meditation, intention, pranayama and asana, you will be guided to suit your level, yet challenged, refreshed, inspired and renewed. This class integrates the spirituality and teachings of Yoga to offer a truly holistic rather than a superficial experience. This holistic approach facilitates a synergy of mind, body and spirit.

Slow Yoga Flow

Based on Ashtanga Yoga, Slow Yoga Flow focuses on mind-body connection through breath and posture. Poses are held for longer periods, allowing more opportunity to feel breath, muscles, bones and skin. A subtle energy flow through whole of body, allowing you to experience your “whole self.”

Group Mat Pilates

Our group Mat Pilates classes offer a low impact form of body conditioning, targeted to your individual needs. The focus is on activating strength of the ‘core’ muscles that support the spine and balancing the muscles of the body to create better posture, flexibility and whole body movement. It is a series of precise and controlled movements that engage the mind and body to work together to improve self-awareness and well-being.

A foam mat will be your work space as the instructor works you through a series of exercises with the option of adding accessories like elastic bands, loops, rollers, core balls, weights. Don’t be fooled; while Mat Pilates (versus Reformer) may not seem as exciting or challenging, many clients see results (improved strength, posture, agility, flexibility, toned muscles) within just a few mat sessions.
